New Zealand Glassworks Te Whare Tūhua o Te Ao (NZG), with the support of Creative New Zealand, is pleased to announce that the 2027 Artist in Residence programme is open for applications.

New Zealand Glassworks is the national centre for glass. NZG’s vision is to be the hub of glass practice in New Zealand and to be renowned as a centre of innovation and excellence in glass. We are New Zealand’s leading place for the community to access and experience all aspects of glass. We inspire and encourage glass artists and advocate for a sustainable sector.

NZG is committed to supporting artistic exploration and providing an environment that fosters creative, original works in glass. In 2027, we look forward to offering one professional artist working in glass a four-week residency at New Zealand Glassworks in Whanganui.

The AiR is a hot-glass residency opportunity open to all New Zealand citizens and permanent residents who use glass as the primary medium in their practice. We encourage applications from glass practitioners at all stages of their career.
