I am interested in the definition of space through the physical form and in the paradoxes of these forms how the glass can look balanced yet looks precarious; fragile yet has strength; and weightless, yet with form and substance.

I work using the lost wax process in cast glass, a very process-driven technique, and intend to convey evidence of that process in the making of the work. The wax is poured in long strips and then curved and shaped while still warm, representing an idea of captured movement, energy and tension by working with twists and changes in direction.

The form is emphasized by the use of different surface treatments in soft acid etch and smooth polish to give a sense of tactility and work with the light and translucency of the glass.
